Her ornate costumes?their silks and velvets, jewels and embroideries?are often the stars of any scene, which she rounds out with musical instruments, games of chance, and more than a few sidelong glances. Suvorova, who comes from a three-generation dynasty of artists, studied monumental composition at the St. Petersburg Academy of Fine Arts.
